Aggravated break and enter in Riverwood

Police are investigating after an aggravated break and enter in Sydney’s south, NSW Police say.

Just before 10pm today, a 42-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl were inside a unit on Belmore Road, Riverwood, when the woman heard a noise at the front door.

Police have been told as the woman opened the door, two men wearing balaclava’s and gloves and one armed with a metal pole, forced entry in the premises and pushed the woman, causing her to fall to the ground.

One of the men punched the woman several times in the head, before both men fled the scene.

The 10-year-old girl was not injured, and was able to contact Triple Zero (000).

The woman was taken to Bankstown Hospital with minor injuries.

Officers attached to Campsie Local Area Command conducted a search of the area and have commenced an investigation.
