Appeal over suspicious fire in Muswellbrook

Police are appealing for public assistance following a suspicious fire in the Hunter region yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just after 12.30pm (Sunday 30 September 2018), emergency services were called to a business on Common Road, Muswellbrook, following reports of a fire.

The fire destroyed 38 vehicles and a Hyundai Robex 55 excavator before it was extinguished.

No one was injured.

Officers from Hunter Valley Police District established the crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined; however, it is being treated as suspicious.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is urged to come forward.
