Armed robbery in Kanahooka

Police are appealing for information following the armed hold up of a convenience store at Kanahooka yesterday, NSW Police say.

Police were told about 8.15pm today, a man armed with a knife and with his face covered, walked into the store on Lakeside Drive.

The man approached the counter and brandished the knife towards a 24-year-old male shop assistant standing behind the counter.

He demanded cash to which the assistant complied.

The man ran from the store and was last seen running into a nearby laneway.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command were later notified of the incident and began investigations.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information on the identity or whereabouts of the man, is urged to contact Crime Stopers.
