Armed robbery in Matraville

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a pharmacy at Matraville, NSW Police say.

Just before midday today, a man entered the pharmacy on Perry Street armed with a syringe.

The man threatened staff before fleeing with cash and prescription medication and was last seen running west along Perry Street.

Police were alerted and officers from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

A search of the area was commenced with assistance from PolAir.

An investigation is underway and police are appealing for public assistance to identify and locate the man involved.

He’s described as being of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander appearance and with a slim build.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
