Assault and theft leading to deceptions

Melton Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to locate three men believed to be involved in an assault on 9 September, Victoria Police say.

It was reported that while near the corner of McKenzie Street and Palmerston Street, a 31 year-old and 28 year-old man were approached by a group and assaulted in Melton.

During the assault they allegedly stole one of the victim’s mobile phone, containing his bank card, health care card, and driver’s licence.

Subsequently the bank card has been used at several locations across Melton, Hoppers Crossing, and Werribee on 9 September.

Police have released images of three men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
