Agriculture Victoria's Goulburn Murray Horticulture Farm Business Resilience Program is supporting growers to build on their knowledge and skills to strengthen their farm business and be better equipped to manage the risks associated with a variable climate.
Agriculture Victoria Horticulture Program Coordinator, Andy Clark said the free, short business course will run at the Tatura SmartFarm at the end of May and mid-June.
'Specialists will present on Wednesday and Thursday 29 and 30 May on topics including identifying and managing risks, strategic planning and setting business goals, managing people on farm, succession planning and farm safety, as well as onsite biosecurity planning.'
'Following on from this, on Wednesday and Thursday 12-13 June, session topics will include climate risk and natural resource management, cost of production, financial management, budgeting, and profitable decision making.
'These sessions will focus on building on and strengthening your business productivity, rather than on individual business information, for example individual finances.
'The course includes an in-depth workbook and a 1-on-1 online pre-course briefing and follow up session with a course facilitator.'
Mr Clark said each session will commence at 1 pm and will run for approximately 4 hours.
Food and refreshments are provided at each session.
