Businesses fined over COVID-19 breaches, South Australia

Police issued fines to two businesses on the weekend in relation to non-compliance with COVID-19 directions.

Over the weekend two licensed venues, one in Hindley Street, Adelaide and the other in Mount Gambier, were both issued $5,060 fines for failing to comply with the Directions of the State Coordinator (the Police Commissioner).

It is alleged both venues had numerous patrons standing and consuming alcohol, which is prohibited. Several other businesses were issued cautions and educated on correct procedures.

Police also had concerns with patrons not following physical distancing guidelines. Police will continue to focus their efforts on ensuring businesses and individuals comply with directions.
