Council's blueprint for community priorities for the next 10 years is now on public exhibition and residents are urged to comment on the revised document Your Vision, Our Future Community Strategic Plan 2017-2027.

Bland Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Brian Monaghan said, the Community Strategic Plan (CSP) is the highest level plan that Council will prepare on behalf of the community. Its purpose is to identify the community's main priorities and aspirations for the future and set the framework for all Council's activities and programs, working towards achieving the long term vision of the community.

"Toward the end of 2020, Council undertook a community satisfaction survey and information from this process as well as Community Forums conducted through Bland Shire and information forthcoming at Community Reference Panel meetings and compared this information with the existing CSP," Councillor Monaghan said.

"We received some really valuable feedback from the community. Staff have reviewed all feedback to ensure the desires of our community are represented, with Councillors taking on board what the community has said.

"This is reflected in the draft Plan, which clearly identifies key themes and strategies and outlines where our community wants to be in the future."

The draft Plan will be publicly exhibited from Friday, 18 February through until late March and any comments received will be incorporated into the final document adopted by Council.

The draft document can be viewed at the Council Chambers, 6 Shire Street West Wyalong, Bland Shire Library and on Council's website at www.blandshire.nsw.gov.au

Written submissions from the community can be sent to the General Manager, Bland Shire Council, PO Box 21, West Wyalong, 2671. Comments or submissions will be received up to 4pm 1 April 2022.

The Community Strategic Plan will inform other key strategic documents for Council, including the Delivery Program, Operational Plan, Long Term Financial Plan, Asset Management Plan and Workforce Management Plan.
