As part of Operation Trinity, police have arrested two youths following an aggravated burglary in Clayton and an extended follow ending in Endeavour Hills this morning.
It is understood the two males attended a property in Marshall Avenue, Clayton about 12.45am.
The males allegedly forced entry through a front door and made a demand for car keys.
One of the occupants was allegedly assaulted before the duo fled the scene in the victim's stolen Mercedes.
Officers first noticed the stolen Mercedes in company with an allegedly stolen Ford hatch on Gladstone Road, Dandenong.
The cars were followed on the Monash Freeway before they went in different directions.
Air Wing spotted the Mercedes come to a stop in Aldridge Street, Endeavour Hills and observed two people exit the car.
Public Order and Response Team, Highway Patrol, Dog Squad and local units established a cordon.
Police arrested the 19-year-old and 23-year-old males in Cardigan Street about 1.20am.
The pair, both from Dandenong, are assisting police with their enquiries.

Operation Trinity, which runs every single night until dawn is Victoria Police's most well-resourced frontline policing operation at present.
There are 70 additional police rostered each night, on top of existing patrols.
This includes frontline officers, Highway Patrol members, the Dog Squad, Public Order Response Team, and Air Wing.
As a result of this intense focus, police have made over 1,400 arrests relating to burglaries and car thefts - with the overwhelming majority of these offenders' children. A further 2300 night shift arrests have also been made for other criminal offending due to the strong police presence as part of Operation Trinity.
