Logan City Council's commitment to an annual celebration of community has been recognised by Relationships Australia.
Council features on an online list of Australian community, business and government organisations seen as 'Very Neighbourly Organisations' for the way they uphold and promote the principles of Neighbour Day.
The annual celebration of community, which occurs this year on Sunday, March 31, is co-ordinated nationwide by Relationships Australia.
It aims to connect people with their neighbours to address feelings of loneliness and foster a sense of belonging.
Council is encouraging the local community to host Neighbour Day picnics on the weekend of Neighbour Day 2024 - Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31.
Residents have until Thursday, March 21 to register their picnic to put themselves in the running to win one of 10 Woolworths vouchers to the value of $100.
Special postcards, with teabags attached, are also available at Council's Customer Service Centres and Libraries to help neighbours connect and share a cup of tea.
An online version can be downloaded from council's website - logan.qld.gov.au
