The Hills Shire Council invites residents to submit photos of their favourite locations in The Hills for a chance to be featured in the 2025 Waste and Recycling Calendar.

Mayor of The Hills Shire Dr Peter Gangemi said that people of all photographic levels can enter the competition, titled 'Your Hills', which is now open for submissions.

"The competition is an excellent opportunity to showcase your photographic skills in a calendar adored by the local community," Mayor Gangemi said.

"We are looking for entries that capture the essence of the Hills and highlight the district's unique beauty.

"I wish all the entrants the best of luck, and I look forward to seeing their submissions."

A group of judges will evaluate and choose 13 images to feature in the annual calendar. One will be selected for each month, and another will be showcased on the front cover.

Applicants must reside within The Hills Shire and can only submit images taken within the LGA within the last two years. The images can feature natural and man-made environments and must not include people or faces.

All winning entries will receive Coles/Myer gift cards, with monthly feature photos receiving a $50 voucher and the front cover feature receiving a $100 voucher.

Submissions for the competition are open until 23 June 2024.
