Detectives Seek Info on Armed Jewellery Store Heist in NSW

Robbery & Serious Crime Squad detectives are appealing for information into an armed robbery at a jewellery story on Sydney's Lower North Shore last month.

About 3.30pm on Thursday 28 March 2024, emergency services were called to a business at Birdwood Lane in Lane Cove, following reports of an armed robbery.

On arrival, officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command were told two males wearing dark clothing and face coverings – one carrying a firearm – had entered the business and threatened staff before taking an item.

It is believed the males fled in a silver Holden Commodore, bearing Victoria registration plates 1IH 8XX.

Detectives believe that car was being driven by another unknown man and was seen in driving in convoy with a silver Mercedes.

Local police established a crime scene and commenced initial inquiries into the incident before the matter was taken carriage of by State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad under Strike Force Larama.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for information to help identify two men who may be able to assist with the investigation.

One man is described as having an olive complexion, of medium build, with grey hair. He was wearing a grey t-shirt, white shorts and white sneakers, with a white jumper around his neck.

The other man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, medium to solid build, with a long blonde mullet. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, yellow shorts, black sneakers and a red baseball cap.
