Double trouble at Warrnambool

The members of the Warrnambool police divisional van could only look on when two cars raced each other along a local street on Friday night, Victoria Police say.

The incident happened while the members were filling up their vehicle with petrol about 11.30pm.

The members, a senior constable and a constable, estimated that the cars were allegedly travelling at approximately 100km/h in a 60 zone as they travelled along Raglan Parade.

A short time later the two drivers, not knowing that their speeding antics had been witnessed by police, pulled up behind the divisional van.

A quick intercept took place which resulted in both drivers, two 18-year-old local men having their cars impounded and facing a number of traffic related charges.
