Driver arrested after failing to stop, SA

A driver was arrested and her passenger reported after failing to pull over for police at Kadina overnight, according to SA Police.

A Kadina patrol attempted to pull the car over on Lindsay Terrace, Kadina, about 11.45pm on Saturday 27 May, for a mobile driver test.

The driver allegedly failed to stop and took off from police. The car broke down a short distance away, with police still behind it, on Copper Coast Highway, Kadina.

The driver, an 18-year-old Clearview woman, was arrested and charged with drive dangerous to avoid police apprehension and bailed to appear in court on 21 June.

The passenger, a 25-year-old Wallaroo woman, was reported for carry offensive weapon after police allegedly found a knife in her handbag in the footwell of the car. She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

There were no injuries and no damage during the brief pursuit and apprehension. The vehicle was impounded.
