Driver disqualified till 2046 caught drink-driving in Taree

A man – who is disqualified from driving until 2046 – has been refused bail after allegedly being caught drink-driving in an unregistered car at Taree overnight, NSW Police say.

Traffic & Highway Patrol officers stopped the man on Manning River Drive, Taree, about 10pm today, for the purpose of a random breath test.

When the 40-year-old driver returned a positive roadside breath test he was arrested and taken to Taree Police Station, where he returned an alleged reading of 0.231.

A check revealed the man was disqualified from driving until 2046, and the vehicle he was driving was unregistered.

He has been charged with

• Drive with a high-range PCA

• Drive while disqualified

• Driver consume alcohol while driving

• Use unregistered vehicle, and

• Contravene an AVO.

The man is due to appear in Taree Local Court later tomorrow.
