Extra Defence Homes Erected in South Australia

Department of Defence

The Albanese Government is expanding housing options for Australian Defence Force (ADF) members and their families in South Australia, with 54 new Defence homes in Angle Park.

Australia's service personnel and their families deserve access to modern, accessible and practical housing options, close to their place of work.

Located 13km from the Osborne Naval Shipbuilding Precinct, the Angle Park housing development will ensure ADF members - including those who will be part of work on the Submarine Construction Yard, in conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarine program and in naval shipbuilding - are able to access accommodation close to their place of work.

Defence Housing Australia has completed the first 14 dwellings, with the next phase scheduled to be finished in June 2025.

Quotes attributable to Assistant Minister for Defence, the Hon Matt Thistlethwaite MP:

"I'm delighted to open the first homes within the Angle Park development, which offers modern amenities suitable for Defence families in a central location, close to the Adelaide CBD."
