Mansfield Highway Patrol members are investigating following a fatal crash in Macs Cove yesterday afternoon, Victoria Police say.
It’s believed a Holden station wagon was travelling south on Mansfield-Woods Point Road when the driver lost control on a bend about 12.35pm.
The driver of the vehicle, an 87-year-old Mansfield man, was airlifted to Melbourne but died later that evening.
An 83-year-old Mansfield woman was airlifted to a Wangaratta hospital with serious injuries.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have information to contact Crime Stoppers.
