Fatal crash near Griffith, NSW

A man has died after a single-vehicle crash south of Griffith today, NSW Police say.

About 2.20pm today, police were called to Wilga Road, Whitton, following reports of a car crash.

Officers from Griffith Local Area Command attended and found a Holden Barina had crashed into a power pole at the scene.

Emergency services attended; however the driver, a 28-year-old man, died at the scene.

A 9-year-old child who had been travelling in the front passenger seat was taken to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.

Two other children, aged 2 and 9, who had been travelling in the rear of the vehicle, were taken to Griffith Base Hospital in a stable condition.

Investigations into the crash are continuing.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers.
