Fatal fail to stop pedestrian crash in Milperra

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a pedestrian was killed and the vehicle involved failed to stop at Milperra this morning, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 4.30am tomorrow, emergency services were called to Henry Lawson Drive, near Raleigh Road, after reports of a crash.

Officers from Bankstown Local Area Command attended and found a female pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.

The officers established a crime scene and spoke to witnesses while Ambulance paramedics attempted to resuscitate the woman, but sadly were unsuccessful.

It is believed that the woman was struck by an older model white Toyota utility.

Police have been told the utility is believed to have lost a side mirror as a result of the collision.

The vehicle left the crash scene and was last seen travelling south on Henry Lawson Drive.

Henry Lawson Drive is closed while the crash scene is examined and police have urged motorists to avoid the area.

The Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit have appealed for anyone with information about the vehicle involved in the collision to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
