Fatal motor vehicle crash in Goulburn

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after the death of a woman in a car crash near Goulburn yesterday, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 5.30pm today emergency services were called to the intersection of Crookwell and Woodhouselee Roads at Wayo.

Police believe that an elderly woman, driving a white Hyundai sedan, and a 44-year-old woman driving in a Toyota Hilux utility truck collided.

As a result of the collision, the elderly woman was killed.

The 44-year-old woman suffered injuries to her sternum. Two passengers inside in the utility – a 16 year-old boy and a 15-year-old – were treated for minor injuries at the scene and did not need to be taken to hospital.

The 44-year-old woman was taken to Goulburn Base Hospital for treatment and mandatory blood and urine tests.

Officers attached to The Hume Local Area Command attended and commenced inquiries into the incident.

Crookwell Road was closed until 9.30pm.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
