Further Arrests After Wakeley Riot - Strike Force Dribs

Fourteen males have now been charged following an extensive investigation into a riot outside a church in Sydney's south west last month.

Strike Force Dribs was established to investigate the large-scale public order incident which occurred on Monday 15 April 2024.

Today (Monday 6 May 2024), investigators commenced a Strike Force Dribs day of action, targeting persons believed to have been present at the riot.

Five Firearms Prohibition Order searches were conducted at homes in Liverpool, Hinchinbrook, Fairfield, Austral and Wetherill Park to ensure community safety.

Three men were arrested when search warrants were executed in Raby, Edensor Park and Picnic Point.

A 25-year-old man was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with riot, and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.

He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Monday 6 May 2024).

A 31-year-old man was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with riot, intimidate police officer during public disorder no actual bodily harm, and aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence - people there.

He was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court today (Monday 6 May 2024).

A 40-year-old man was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter with intent - in company - not steal, riot, throw missile at police officer at public disorder no actual bodily harm, and assault police officer during public disorder cause actual bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Monday 6 May 2024).

Inquiries under Strike Force Dribs are ongoing.
