Further information sought over Mount Gambier murder, SA

The investigation continues into the murder of Rex Court and the serious assault of two others during a fight in Commercial Street East, Mount Gambier, on Saturday night, according to SA Police.

Major Crime and local Mount Gambier Detectives continue to speak with a number of witnesses to this very violent and tragic incident. Very valuable information has been obtained as a result.

We have received 15 calls to Crime Stoppers to date.

A number of statements have been obtained and the investigation continues.

Police have canvassed local businesses and obtained a considerable amount of CCTV footage which they continue to examine.

The black Ford territory that police were seeking has been located and seized. It will undergo forensic examination.

A 15-year-old Mount Gambier boy was arrested and charged with murder on Sunday night and has already appeared in court.

No further arrests have been made at this time.

Superintendent Grant Moyle, Officer in Charge, Limestone Coast LSA appealed for further cooperation. "Although we have had a good response to our call for witnesses, we would still like to renew that appeal and urge anyone with any information regarding this incident to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

"Whether someone witnessed the actual assault, saw people involved before or after the event, or after the event has heard information or had conversations with any witnesses or those involved, it is vital they come forward and contact police immediately."
