Geo-target text message issued to help locate man missing from Sydney's east

Police have issued a SMS geo-targeted text message and are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from Sydney's eastern beaches.

Robert Welch, aged 81, was last seen at a home on Blaxland Street, Matraville, about 3am today (Saturday 17 September 2022).

Family reporting him missing to officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command after they were unable to locate him about 7am today (Saturday 17 September 2022).

Family and police hold concerns for his welfare as he lives with dementia.

Robert is described as being of Caucasian appearance, medium height, of medium build, balding with grey hair and blue eyes.

Mr Welch may be travelling in a silver 2008 Honda Civic sedan with NSW registration plates BHU 96M.
