Honey, I've got some bad news

A man will have to explain to his partner why her car has been impounded after being clocked travelling at 176km/h in a 110km/h zone at Woodend North last night, Victoria Police say.

The 27-year-old Sunbury man was driving his partner’s Holden Astra north along the Calder Freeway when he flew past an unmarked highway patrol vehicle about 9pm.

He is expected to be charged on summons for speed dangerous and exceeding the speed limit.

He will also be without his partner’s car for 30 days as it has been impounded at a cost of $1225.
