Investigation underway after man assaulted in Greenacre

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault of a man in Greenacre yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 8pm today officers were called to Gilliver Crescent after a 40-year-old man was found suffering a head injury.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to Bankstown Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Early investigations suggest a single shot was fired during a confrontation between the 40-year-old man and two other males. Officers have been told that incident occurred on Northcote Road, Greenacre.

It’s believed one of the men then used the firearm to assault the 40-year-old before running from the scene.

A crime scene was established on Gilliver Crescent and a full investigation is underway.
