Investigation underway following armed robbery in Westmead

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a hotel at Westmead today, NSW Police say.

About 11.30am today, a man entered the hotel on Railway Parade and threatened a female staff member with a firearm.

He fled empty handed.

No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident.

Police were alerted and officers from Parramatta Local Area Command attended, established a crime scene and conducted a search of the area.

An investigation is underway and police are appealing for public assistance to identify and locate the man involved.

He’s described as being of Caucasian appearance, of a solid build and aged in his 30s or 40s. He was wearing a black coloured hooded jumper and dark blue tracksuit pants with a white stripe, white sneakers and black sunglasses.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
