Police have charged a man and a woman following an alleged carjacking and armed robbery of a taxi driver in Nowra, NSW Police say.
About 6.30pm yesterday a taxi driver, aged 37, responded to a taxi booking at a Nowra address, where he picked up a 30-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman.
The man and woman demanded the taxi driver to stop in Pleasant Way, Nowra.
The 30-year-old man allegedly threatened the driver with a pair of scissors demanding money and subsequently stole the taxi, leaving the driver in Pleasant Way.
Officers from Shoalhaven Local Area Command were notified and commenced investigations.
A Police Dog was in attendance and tracked the man and woman.
The man and woman were arrested at the scene and taken to Nowra Police Station.
The 30-year man was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon, aggravated assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle armed with weapon, aggravated break & enter and commit serious indictable offence in company.
The 34-year-old woman was charged with robbery in company, aggravated assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle.
They were both refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court today, today.
