Man Arrested Following Solo Vehicle Crash at Lake Illawarra

Police are waiting to speak with the driver of a car after he was injured when his sedan hit a tree at Kanahooka overnight.

Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District were patrolling the Princes Motorway, Kanahooka, about 7.30pm on Monday (22 April 2024), when they saw a silver Ford Falcon sedan allegedly travelling at high speed.

A short time later, police found the car had hit a tree on Kanahooka Road.

The driver and sole occupant - an 18-year-old man - was assisted at the scene by those officers until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and took him to Wollongong Hospital, where he's reported to be in a stable condition.
