Man charged after assault in Shellharbour

A man has charged following investigations into an alleged assault at Shellharbour last month, NSW Police say.

About 10.30pm on Thursday 28 September 2017, police will allege several people became involved in a brawl at a club on Wattle Road.

A 19-year-old man suffered serious facial injuries at the time and following medical assessment several days later, reported the incident to police.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command commenced investigations.

Following inquiries, a 24-year-old man attended Lake Illawarra Police Station today, where he was arrested.

He was charged with cause grievous bodily harm with intent and refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Monday 23 October 2017.

Investigations are continuing.
