Man charged after firearms seized in car, home in Kelso

A man has been charged after police seized a pistol in a car and a rifle in a home at Kelso yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 7pm yesterday, officers from Chifley Local Area Command were called to a home on Boyd Street, Kelso, following reports of a domestic-related incident.

At the home, officers arrested a 26-year-old man.

Following his arrest, officers searched the man’s car and allegedly located and seized a pistol and an amount of drugs believed to be ‘ice’.

The man was taken to Bathurst Police Station.

Following investigations, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Tyndall Street, Kelso, where they allegedly located and seized an automatic rifle and other items.

All seized items will undergo forensic examinations.

The man was charged with a number of offences including; possess loaded firearm in a public place, possess prohibited drug, and breach apprehended domestic violence order.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Bathurst Local Court today.
