Man charged after theft from railway storage facilities, NSW

A man has been charged after a number of thefts from bicycle storage facilities at train stations throughout Sydney, NSW Police say.

The Police Transport Command has been investigating a number of incidents where bicycles were stolen from Sydney Trains storage facilities.

About 11.10am on Thursday 18 May 2017, officers from the Police Transport Command attended a Sydney Trains storage facility at Parramatta and arrested a 45-year-old man.

The man was searched and it is alleged he was in possession of a number of tools capable of breaking locks as well as methylamphetamine and cannabis.

He was arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station.

The man has been charged with possess housebreaking implements, two counts of possess prohibited drugs, deal with property proceeds of crime and six counts of larceny relating to the stolen bicycles.

He has been refused bail and will appear before Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 25 May 2017.
