Man charged over frauds in Bathurst

A man will face court next month after a Central West woman was allegedly defrauded of $6500, NSW Police say.

It is alleged the man offered to undertake roof repairs on the woman's house and she paid him $6500.

The work was not carried out.

About 2pm yesterday today, police were called by a member of the public to Havannah Street at Bathurst where they spoke to a 26-year-old man.

He was arrested and taken to Bathurst Police Station.

The 26-year-old Liverpool man was charged with Dishonestly Obtain Financial Advantage by Deception (x3)

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Bathurst Local Court on Monday 22 August 2016.

The man has also been charged in relation to similar offences that occurred in the Taree area during August 2015.
