Man killed in fail to stop crash in Corrimal

A man has been killed after he was struck by a vehicle in a fail to stop crash at Corrimal overnight, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 2am today tomorrow emergency services received several triple zero calls (000) regarding an injured male near the southbound lanes of Memorial Drive between Railway Street and Towradgi Road.

Police attended a short time later and located a 48-year-old man with critical injuries that are believed to have been caused by the impact of a motor vehicle.

The man was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics and conveyed to Wollongong Hospital but sadly he later died.

Police from Wollongong Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Crash Investigation Unit officers also attended the location and have taken carriage of the investigation.

Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
