Mass Cigarette Theft in Altona North

Police are appealing for public assistance following the theft of a large number of cigarettes from a shopping centre in Altona North, Victoria Police say.

Three men forced entry into a Millers Road shopping centre on 1 February using pry bars and a sledge hammer.

Once inside the men used a demolition saw to cut open a cabinet full of cigarettes and began removing the products from the shelves.

The offenders utilised two large wheelie bins with yellow lids to steal a large quantity of cigarettes.

They left the premises in a white 4WD, believed to be a Nissan Navara.

The offenders caused a large amount of damage to the store in the process of stealing the cigarettes.

Police have released images of a number of men police believe can assist with their enquires and the vehicle that is believed to be involved.
