Melbourne's Northwest Faces Police Probe Over Aggravated Burglaries

Police are appealing for public assistance following an aggravated burglary and an attempted aggravated burglary in Melbourne's northwest on 16 April.

Investigators have been told an unknown male gained access to, and stole jewellery from, a property on Brees Road in Keilor East about 7.30pm.

It is believed that the same offender also attempted to gain access to a property on Riviera Road in Avondale Heights about 8.30pm.

The offender fled the scene after being interrupted by a person home at the time.

No one was injured during the two incidents.

Police believe that the same man was seen earlier in the day casing businesses in the Keilor East area.

The offender is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 30s, with a shaved head and tattoos on his face and hands.

Investigators have released CCTV footage and an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

An investigation remains ongoing.
