Minor injuries after fight in Mascot

Two people have been taken to hospital as a precaution after they were assaulted outside a fast food restaurant at Mascot this morning, NSW Police say.

Police from Botany Bay Local Area Command have been told an argument between two groups, outside the business in Ross Smith Avenue, escalated into a physical fight shortly before 2am tomorrow.

A 19-year-old woman, from Prestons, and a 27-year-old man, from Glenmore Park, were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for minor injuries, before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. They were expected to be released this morning.

Inquiries into the identity of those involved are ongoing.
