Brimbank Highway Patrol have impounded a motorbike after detecting it travelling more than double the speed limit in Keilor today.
Police were performing speed detection duties on the Calder Freeway as part of Operation Arid just before 3pm.
Officers detected a white BMW S1000R motorbike allegedly travelling at 210km/h in a 80km/h area.
The motorbike was intercepted before police spoke to the 26-year-old Tarneit rider.
It was impounded for a period of 30 days at a cost of $932.40.
The man will be summonsed to attend court at a later date.
Operation Arid will run statewide from 12.01am Friday 8 March to 11.15pm Monday 11 March 2024.
