New Campbell Town Fire And Emergency Services Complex

Tasmanian Government

The Central Midlands' fire and emergency response capabilities have been significantly bolstered with the opening of the new, purpose-built Campbell Town Fire and Emergency Services Complex.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government invested $3.2 million to deliver the complex which will serve as a central point for Tasmania Fire Service, State Emergency Service, and stakeholders to meet, train and operate out of during emergencies.

Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management, Felix Ellis, said our rural emergency services go above and beyond to protect their communities, and this new facility will support them with that crucial work.

"The new complex will bring together both TFS and SES volunteers into a station specifically designed to house both agencies, providing opportunities for joint training and providing efficiencies in their response," Minister Ellis said.

"The location has also been carefully chosen to ensure both fire and emergency services have a centralised dedicated response to best suit the community's needs.

"Over the last few weeks, we've seen just how incredible our emergency responders are - working day and night, putting themselves at risk to protect Tasmania.

"And through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, we will always back our emergency services in to keep our communities safe."

Liberal member for Lyons, Mark Shelton, said the new Fire and Emergency Services Complex is not only a win for Campbell Town and surrounds, but for communities right across the midlands.

"We've seen how devastating bushfires can be, and our Government will always ensure our emergency services have the resources and capabilities they need to keep us safe."
