NSW man assaulted

Investigations are underway after a man was found injured on a road at Crows Nest overnight, NSW Police say.

Just before 11pm today, police and emergency services responded to reports of a man lying in the middle of the road on West Street.

A 56-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for a non-life threatening injury to his head.

Initial investigations suggest the man was assaulted.

Police from Harbourside Local Area Command established a crime scene and with the assistance of the Dog Unit made a search of the area but were unable to locate any persons of interest.
