NSW man charged after pointing firearm at police vehicle

A man has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly threatening police with a firearm in the state’s west yesterday, NSW Police say.

A member of the public contacted police just before 3pm yesterday, after observing a man allegedly point a firearm at a marked police vehicle on Thomas Street in Broken Hill.

Police from Barrier Local Area Command attended and commenced inquiries.

Following those investigations, officers attended a home on Argent Street last night where they arrested a 52-year-old man.

He was taken to Broken Hill Police Station where he was charged with possess and use unauthorised pistol.

The man was bail refused to appear at Broken Hill Local Court today.
