Police are investigating after a man was shot in Sydney’s west.
About 10.25pm today, police were called to Nugent Place, Prairiewood, after reports of a number of a number of shots being fired at the front of a property, NSW Police say.
Upon arrival a 24-year-old man was located with a gunshot wound to his back.
Ambulance Paramedics treated the man and he has been taken to Liverpool Hospital where he is currently in surgery.
A crime scene was established, which is being examined by forensic officers
Detectives from Fairfield Local Area Command have commenced inquiries into the incident.
The suspect has only been described as male with black hooded jacket.
Initial investigations suggest the incident is targeted.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
