Over 2000 cannabis plants seized in Lansborough

Ballarat Divisional Response Unit detectives have seized over 2000 cannabis plants in Landsborough.

Police executed a search warrant at a property on Leslies Lane where 2177 plants were found about 8am on Tuesday, 14 March.

The cannabis plants were located across ten greenhouses at the property.

A 39-year-old Barkly man attended the property whilst investigators were there and was arrested at the scene.

Police searched his vehicle and allegedly located a firearm.

Investigators later searched a property on Johnsons Gully Road in Barkly and recovered four cannabis plants.

The 39-year-old man has been charged with:

• cultivating narcotic plant - (4 cannabis plants)

• non prohibited person possessing Cat A longarm

• non-prohibited person possessing cartridge ammunition

• handling stolen goods

• possessing cocaine

He's been bailed and will appear at Ballarat Magistrates' Court on 8 May 2023.

Investigations are ongoing in relation to the 2177 cannabis plants located in Landsborough.
