Police and Emergency Services crews are currently at Womma Road at Elizabeth West, after a pedestrian was hit by a train a short time ago, according to SA Police.
Just before 5.30am, the pedestrian was hit by a city bound train at a level crossing on Womma Road not far from the Womma Railway Station.
The pedestrian is currently being treated by ambulance crews at the scene, with their condition described as serious.
Police Major Crash Investigators are also making their way to the incident.
Commuters are advised train services in the area will be affected.
