Planning Proposal Released For Future Precinct

Pondicherry

The community can have its say on a new draft Planning Proposal for the Pondicherry Precinct, located immediately north of Oran Park.

The proposal seeks to facilitate the development of a future residential precinct comprising a proposed lake, district sports facilities, a Kindergarten to Year 6 public school, Kindergarten to Year 12 private school and an integrated neighbourhood/community centre, public open space, riparian corridors, pedestrian footpaths and cycleways.

The Pondicherry Precinct Planning Proposal is on public exhibition until 6 May.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, encouraged people to view the proposal and share their thoughts.

"We are one of the fastest growing Local Government Areas in Australia, as we welcome more than 100 new residents each week," she said.

"The Camden area is on an exciting growth journey and this is our opportunity to get that growth right.

"I encourage everyone to check out the proposal and let us know what you think."
