Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash, Mount Coot-Tha

Two people have died in a three-vehicle crash in Mount Coot-Tha this afternoon, May 1.

Preliminary investigations indicate a black Audi S3 was travelling north in the Legacy Way tunnel when it crashed into a silver sedan which has subsequently crashed into a small truck.

The driver and sole occupant of the Audi, a man in his fifties, died at the scene.

A female passenger in her twenties, who was travelling in the silver sedan, also died at the scene. The female driver of the sedan was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the truck was also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant vision of the black Audi S3 prior to the crash to contact police.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
