Police Arrest Man After Stabbing - Alexandria

A man has been arrested after a woman was stabbed in Sydney's south yesterday.

About 12.30pm on Wednesday (8 May 2024), emergency services were called to O'riordan Street, Alexandria, following reports of an alleged stabbing.

On arrival, officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command were told a man - believed to be in his 40s – had allegedly stabbed a 39-year-old woman.

It is believed that they are known to each other.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident has commenced.

About 7.50am today (Thursday 9 May 2024) a 45-year-old man presented to Dee Why Police Station where he was subsequently arrested and taken to Manly Police Station.
