Police charge man after Cranbourne North hit-run collision

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit have charged a man following a fatal alleged hit-run collision in Cranbourne North yesterday morning.

The 30-year-old Toora man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, failing to stop, failing to render assistance, driving whilst disqualified and using an unregistered motor vehicle.

He will be presented before the Frankston Magistrates' Court this afternoon for a bail/remand hearing.

It is alleged the man was the driver of the vehicle that collided with a motorcycle on Thompsons Road near the intersection of Lansell Drive about 1.40am yesterday.

The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old Cranbourne West man, died at the scene.

The vehicle alleged to have been involved was located unoccupied in Lyall Street, Hastings, about 9.20am yesterday.
