Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary in California Gully last night, Victoria Police say.
The incident happened in Laurie Court when up to six offenders, armed with steel bars and a conducted energy device, entered the house by an unlocked front door just after 10pm.
One of the occupants, a 20-year-old man, confronted the men and was assaulted.
A second occupant, a 42-year-old man, who heard shouting came out of a bedroom and was struck to the head with a steel bar.
The second victim chased the offenders out of the house into the street.
Both victims sustained injuries in the incident and were conveyed to hospital.
A third person, a 44-year-old woman, was also home at the time but was not injured.
