Police investigate cigarette burglary in Balwyn

Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a burglary at a business in Balwyn where in excess of $50 000 worth of cigarettes have been stolen.

Investigators believe four unknown offenders have gained access to the Balwyn Road business by smashing the back door lock between 7pm on 13 November and 7am on 14 November.

Officers have been told the group also caused significant damage to the inside of the business by destroying a number of shelving units.

It is believed the group travelled to and from the scene in an unknown vehicle, which may have caused damage to a rear fence.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of the men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The first man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, and was wearing a light-coloured hooded-jumper, tracksuit pants and light coloured runners.

The second man is described as being Caucasian in appearance and was wearing a grey Puma hooded-jumper and blue denim shorts.

The third man is described as being Caucasian in appearance and was wearing a light-coloured baseball cap, a black hooded-jumper with a white motif on the left sleeve, camouflage patterned shorts and black and white runners.

The fourth man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, and was wearing a navy jacket, black tracksuit pants and burgundy shoes.
