Police investigate Echuca petrol theft

Police are investigating following a petrol drive-off in Echuca earlier this year, Victoria Police say.

A silver Holden Commodore sedan with an unknown male driver attended a service station on Ogilvie Avenue about 11.30pm on 2 January.

A male passenger exited the vehicle and filled the car and a jerry can with fuel.

He then returned to the vehicle.

The car drove off with neither of the occupants making any attempt to pay for the petrol.

The vehicle had false plates attached – RKJ 316.

Investigators have released images of a vehicle they would like to identify and a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone with any information about the theft is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
